Review: Bandsaw Books

I recommend The Bandsaw Book by Lonnie Bird. It’s very clearly written and he emphasizes what a simple machine a bandsaw is.

Mark Duginske also has a book that many people recommend. I found Duginske’s book not clearly written and overwhelming for somebody just starting out. For example, he goes on and on about selecting the right bandsaw blade, but in my experience, it really doesn’t matter that much (read more).

I have read both and found Bird’s book was much more straightforward. The bandsaw is a simple machine. There is no reason to complicate it.
