I wrote a children’s book about woodworking with hand tools.

I wanted to share my enthusiasm for hand tool woodworking with my son as I read him a bedtime story. I couldn’t find a suitable book, so I wrote one.

My semi-autobiographical book Daddy, Can We Play in the Workshop? is about a young son who wants to go in the workshop with his father, but Dad says he can’t because the power tools are “too loud and dangerous.” By the end, the father and son discover the joys of woodworking with hand tools. It’s a perfect bedtime story for 2-6 year-olds.
